It is one of the most widespread of the curlews, breeding across much of subarctic North America. Its fairly long, decurved bill allows it to probe into fiddler crab burrows, its favorite food item. Length: 39-42 cm Wingspan: 76-89 cm Lifespan: up to 19 years
